CAMP POLICIES

Fees & Refund Policies

CAMP FEES INCLUDE
LDC backpack, special yearly swag, hot lunches and snacks, weekly Shabbat party, specialty activities and all trips aside from Canada’s Wonderland grand trip (the fee will be $20/session).
Day camp fees are HST exempt and your invoice can be used towards child care expenses or the children’s fitness tax credit.

REFUNDS
1. Once your application has been confirmed the $300 deposit is NOT refundable.
2. Cancelation between Feb 1 – April 30th will be charged an additional $250 administrative fee.
3. Cancelations after May 1st are not eligible for a refund however 50% can be credited for the next summer.
4. Our fees are for a specific period and are not a day-to-day fee.
6. In the event of illness, G-d Forbid, a doctor’s note must be provided and the refund will be decided on a case by case basis.

CANCELING OR MOVING A SESSION:
Canceling one session will be subjected to a $150 administrative fee.
Sessions may be switched within LDC 2026 at no extra cost if there is space availability

Transportation

1. The $175 fee is an administrative transportation fee and is non-refundable.
2. Our door-to-door transportation is available in the following boundaries, if there are multiple camp children in the neighbourhood :
NORTH- Gamble Road; SOUTH – Lawrence Ave; WEST – Keele St; EAST- Yonge St
3. In an event that a camper lives beyond the pickup zone, or there are no other camper’s in the neighbourhood a meeting location will be arranged.
4. The busses cannot enter some townhouse developments , narrow and dead end streets, and building driveways. If this is the case a meeting location will be arranged.
5. Every bus will have a LDC bus monitor.

LDC Safe Camp Policy 2026

At LDC, your child’s safety and well-being are our top priorities. Our Safe Camp Policy ensures that campers, parents, and staff enjoy a positive, respectful, and secure environment.

General Expectations
All campers must follow the rules and directions set by counsellors, instructors, and head staff.

Campers, parents, and staff must follow all safety and health protocols required by the Ministry of Health and York Region Public Health.
Respectful behaviour is expected from everyone at all times.
Zero Tolerance for Aggression or Harassment

LDC will not tolerate:
Any physical or verbal aggression, whether provoked or unprovoked, from a camper, parent, or guardian toward another camper or staff member.
Any harassment, discrimination, or inappropriate comments/actions related to race,
religion, gender, citizenship, or background.

If a Camper Struggles or Breaks the Rules
1.Initial Incident:
Parents will be contacted to discuss the issue.
The Directors or Head Counsellor will work with the family to create a behaviour plan.
If needed, additional one-on-one support (for an extra fee) may be recommended.
Families are encouraged to discuss any concerns with our Director before camp begins.
2.Further Incidents:
The camper may be sent home immediately, and parents must pick up their child within
90 minutes.
Depending on the situation, the camper may need to stay home the next day (no refund) to cool off and reflect.
3.Continued Issues:
Repeated or severe behaviour may result in dismissal from camp at the Director’s
discretion.

Immediate Action Clause
If the Directors determine that any behaviour by a camper or parent endangers the safety or well-being of others, LDC reserves the right to bypass steps and require:
Immediate pickup, Temporary suspension, or Permanent dismissal from camp.
At LDC, our goal is to provide every child with a safe, fun, and positive summer experience, ensuring the well-being of all campers and staff remains our highest priority.

Camper Information

It is always beneficial for the camp directors to be aware of any pertinent information about our campers. This enables us to properly deal with adjustments, social or emotional difficulties or tough situations, should they arise. Please fell free to send us a confidential email concerning any issues ie: recent marital changes, learning challenges, adjustment difficulties, social difficulties etc. that will help the staff understand your children and guide them accordingly. This information can be detailed during the registration process. If there is any updated information once your application has been completed please send an email to [email protected]

Conditions of Registration

I agree to allow my/our child(ren) to participate in all camp activities and in supervised camp activities and in supervised trips off camp grounds. In consideration of acceptance of this application by Lubavitch Day camp I/we agree to the following:

1. That the directors of Lubavitch Day camp reserve the right to terminate the registration of any camper when it is deemed to be in the best interest of the child or the camp.
2. To make all payments required in accordance with the fee schedule in effect upon
registration.
3. To give camp officials authority to act on my behalf in case of emergency.
4. To consent to the use of camp photos and footage for publicity purposes.
5.To release and indemnify Lubavitch Day Camp for any and all claims for losses of articles, damages, or injuries that arise from participation in any camp activities.
